Care

Annual exam

A longer visit once a year for plan members: a talk, a hands-on exam and an update to your plan.

It is the visit where the chiropractor looks back over the year and writes down what changes.

What to expect

  • What a visit includes

A longer talk and a repeat of the hands-on exam.

    • A talk about the past year

    • A hands-on exam, repeated

    • X-rays only when medically necessary

    • An updated plan, in writing, if anything changes

  • How long and how often

It takes longer than a regular visit. It happens once a year while you are on the plan, and your chiropractor sets a plan after it. We do not promise a number of visits.

  • What we do not claim

We do not promise results, and results vary. An exam is not a diagnosis of any condition, and we make no claims about diseases.

  • Risks

An exam is hands-on but gentle. X-rays use a small amount of radiation, which is why we take them only when medically necessary and explain why first.

  • See a physician first

See a physician first for chest pain, a sudden severe headache, new numbness or weakness, or a fever. Your chiropractor may ask you to see one before the exam.

  • How it is paid

Included once a year with the Wellness plan. If you pay per visit, it is billed as a visit. We do not bill insurance. You can cancel the plan any time, with a pro rata refund.

Questions about this care

Is the exam part of the monthly fee?

Yes, once a year while you are on the Wellness plan. You can cancel the plan any time, with a pro rata refund. If you leave, the next exam is billed as a visit.

Do I need x-rays?

Not always. We take x-rays only when medically necessary, and your chiropractor tells you why and what they cost before they are taken.

  • A sudden severe headache or neck pain, dizziness, trouble speaking or seeing, new weakness or numbness, numbness in the groin or saddle area (between the legs and buttocks), or new bladder or bowel trouble needs emergency care now. Call 911 or go to an emergency room.
